Fr, Gallagher

died Jan. 28, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. He was 87.Fr. Gallagher was a graduate of St. Gregory’s School, Boston College High School, Boston College and St. John’s Seminary. Ordained a Priest of the Archdiocese of Boston on May 6, 1948. Fr. Gallagher served the Church for over 60 years including assignments in St. Mary of the Nativity – Scituate, Immaculate Conception – Marlborough, St. Francis de Sales, Rockland, Our Lady Help of Christians – Newton, Immaculate Conception – Revere, and Pastor of St. James Church in Medford for over 20 years. Father was named a Senior Priest in November, 1993 and moved to St. Andrew’s Church in Billerica. He moved to Carmel Terrace in Framingham in 2001 and St. Patrick’s Manor in 2008. During his ministry, Fr. Gallagher also served on Archdiocesan Building Commission and as a State Chaplain to the Junior Catholic Daughters of America and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Fr. Gallagher was the beloved son of the late Francis L & Helen (Haverty) Gallagher, the loving brother of Helen E. Smith of Framingham, and uncle of Richard & Yvonne Topping of Shrewsbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews

It was Fr. Gallagher ‘s determination and strong faith that enabled him to join us for our Christmas celebration. He truly enjoyed the day. The Massachusetts Catholic Daughters of the Americas is blessed for having known him.

National Convention

In Buffalo,New York is running from Sunday evening July 11,2010 5 to 8 p.m.( Registration and Tours Only) to July 18, 2010.
Starting Monday July 19 there will be a Post Convention trip which is a Cruise. July 12 are Tours and July 13 will be Seminars.

Convention will actually begin on Wed. July 14 at 2:30 p.m.and close Saturday night with Banquet. There will be a Sunday Mass July 18 at 9 a.m. Regents please share your information with your members. Have copies of the Cost of the Hotel, Itinerary and tours at your meetings. We need to know who would like to go by Bus also. Because it is so close we would like to see a good showing.

Winter Conference

January 16,2010 at St. Clements Parish Hall, Medford/Somerville. Hosted by Court St. Clementine. It is a combination Conference in the morning. Workshop in the afternoon.
Coffee & registration 9 to 9:30 am. Lunch at 12 to 1 pm. Afternoon session will begin promptly at 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is a 4 p.m. Mass at St. Clements if you wish to attend.

Fee for the full day is $17.50 per person. Those wishing to attend the morning session only it is $7.50. If you are staying for Lunch it is 17.50.
Please send your reservations into Connie Pagan 1st Vice State Regent. Regents please be prompt reservations will not be accepted after January 9th. Regents must call the State Regent to be excused.

Court Salem #434 is holding a Mass of Celebration in honor of our 90th Anniversary on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Immaculate Conception Chapel on Hawthorne Boulevard in Salem, Massachusetts. Luncheon will follow at Sophia’s Room at the Hotel Hawthorne in Salem, Massachusetts. Donation: $35. RSVP Phyllis Surman by Saturday, December 5th.
